S.A.F.E. Score Framework™
The S.A.F.E. Score Framework™ is a proprietary diagnostic model that serves two distinct functions depending on who is using it. While organizations utilize the framework as a corporate auditing tool, for community networks, the neurodivergent community, and the neurodivergent individuals they support, it serves a completely different purpose.
One Framework, Two Functions
For community organizations and neurodivergent individuals, the framework acts as a practical, individual diagnostic tool. It is designed specifically to arm the individual worker with the data they need to navigate the workplace safely. It supports individuals by providing:
An Objective Diagnostic Criteria: It gives individuals a protective magnifying glass and a clear set of standards to evaluate the reality of their immediate workplace environment.
Diagnosing the Workplace Culture: The framework measures the environment across four core pillars to diagnose the reality of the workplace culture. This allows individuals to objectively evaluate the predictability of disclosure outcomes, the flexibility of communication, and the actual disclosure safety of the environment.
Removing the Guesswork: It gives individuals the concrete data they need to determine if a workplace culture can sustain their well-being, if a formal disclosure is safe, or if it is time to plan a safe exit to protect their career and health.
The S.A.F.E. Score Framework™ was developed by Dr. Denise Malone-Cash, DSL, a late-diagnosed autistic HR professional, employee relations subject matter expert, and Industrial-Organizational (I-O) Psychology researcher.
After a decade in employee relations managing and facilitating the formal accommodation process for others, Denise's own experience navigating the accommodation process as an autistic individual exposed a significant mismatch between standard policy and the neurodivergent nervous system. Blending her professional compliance expertise with this lived experience, she developed the S.A.F.E. Score Framework™ to address this systemic gap.
